...Pullin Together...

I have 2 parody's of the same song from Saturday's Warrior.  It is a great song that you can easily change the words and make it work for whatever it is you are doing.  Here are two samples:

(This one was sung by Warrior, Cricket, Skippy and Vanilla Bean in 2002.)

Pullin Together
What'll we do when the going gets tough and the journey is rough, what'll we do?
Have no fear, your Father is here.  Remember you're His daughter, He believes in you.  You've got your father and mother, sister and brother, pullin' together you can work it out.

What'll you do if your friends don't do right and shut out the light, what'll you do?  Have no fear, your Savior is near and when you're out of courage and the struggle is real, you've got your Father in Heaven, he's your best friend, always turn to Him, He'll help you through.

All alone, we just can't make it, by ourselves we fall behind.  If we turn to our Redeemer, He will help us win the fight.

What'll you do if you don't feel like praying, or reading your scriptures, what'll you do?  Get right up and fill your cup, you'll get it from the living waters that He gives.  You've got your Young Women leaders, bishops and teachers, turn to them and they will help you out.

What'll you do if your family argues and can't get along, what'll you do?  Patience please, get on your knees, and go to your Savior and He'll put you at ease.  Just remember He loves you, lots more than they do, He understands and He's been there too.

All alone, we just can't make it, by ourselves we fall behind.  If we turn to our Redeemer, He will help us win the fight.

Ok ladies...we've got some strength for you.  Always remember, that you've got potential, we know it's not easy, but He knows YOU!!!  We'll never forget Oakcrest, and the strong spirit, and most of all...fear not, He is with you! No fear, of course!
You've got your Father in Heaven, He's your best friend, always turn to Him, He'll help you through.  Without a doubt, He will help you out.  Always turn to Him, He'll help you through!

(Then in 2007 this song was used at a leadership training for the staff.  Here are those lyrics)

Pullin Together
What do we do when the going gets tough
And the journey get rough
What do we do?
Courage take for goodness sake
And when we're out of courage and we're ready to break
We've got Talula and Harley,
Pickles and Whitty, Crimson and Scout
We can work it out

What'll I do if the girls make fun
Because I'm kind of dumb
What'll I do?
Courage take for goodness sake
And when you're out of courage and your ready to break
We've got Talula and Harley
Pickles and Whitty, Crimson and Scout
We can work it out!

All alone you just can't make it by ourselves we fall behind
If we lift and pull together we can help each other climb.

What'll I do if the fire won't start
And it's kind of dark
What'll I do?
    Courage take for goodness sake
And when you're out of courage and your ready to break
We've got Talula and Harley
Pickles and Whitty, Crimson and Scout
We can work it out!

What'll I do if my girl wants to go home
She wants to use the phone
What'll I do?
Piece of cake for goodness sake
If the girls try to get ya and ya shiver and shake
Just climb under the covers, yell for big brother
Pullin' together we can work it out.

All alone we just can't make it
By ourselves we fall behind
If we lift and pull together we can help each other climb

Ok staff...we've got one for you...

What'll you do if your faith goes astray and you lose your way
What would you do?
Well, we would pray for you ladies
Fast for you ladies
And if it would help, we would even carry you ladies

We've got Talula and Harley
Pickles and Whitty, Crimson and Scout
We can work it out!
Without a doubt, we can work it out
Pullin' together we can work it out!
